Hamburger or Hotdog Buns for the Bread Machine
We’ve been enjoying some cool fall evenings with some delicious food on the grill. And grilled brats and burgers need a hearty bun to stand up to that much flavor. Especially when topped the ever tasty burger sauce. That’s why I created this recipe for hamburger and hotdog buns that can be easily prepared in my bread machine!
I’m happy to introduce this delicious recipe for hamburger and hot dog buns.
Note: this recipe was made for a 1.5 lb bread machine, scale up or down as required.
You may ask, what’s the difference between this recipe and my Sandwich Bun recipe? This hamburger and hot dog bun recipe is a bit more substantial and filling. The bun takes the show, and would be recommended for more of a bratwurst, or pub burger type of application. The buttery sandwich bun recipe, while also perfect for burgers, is also a bit lighter, and lends well to shredded chicken and barbecue sauce sandwiches, or with deli meat and cheese. Both are delicious, so try them both and pick what works best for your application! Many also find that my Brioche Buns are their favorites for burgers and hot dogs!

What is the corn starch for?

I find that it adds some chewiness to quite a few of my baked recipes. It’s also the secret ingredient in my cookies.
In this case I found it helped with texture and structure, but could probably be omitted if desired.
