Perfect for Friday pizza nights. Sometimes we pull it thin and make a large classic pizza, sometimes we press them into cast iron pans and make thick crust personal pizzas. Versatile, tasty, and made in a bread machine. What’s not to like?
This recipe is designed for a small bread machine (1 lb loaves) so it’ll work on any bread machine, and can easily be scaled up to prepare more dough.

Bread Machine Pizza Crust
Equipment
- Bread Machine
Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 2½ cups bread flour
- 2 Tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp active dry yeast
- ½ Tbsp garlic powder optional
Instructions
- Add the ingredients into the baking pan of your bread machine in the order listed. (or as recommended for your machine)
- Select the dough setting.
- Depending on your bread machine, it will likely run this bread mode for approximately 1 1/2 hours.
- Once the dough is ready, choose between cast-iron personal pizzas, or a larger party pizza.
For Cast-Iron Personal Pizzas
- Preheat oven to 400
- Divide the ball of dough in half, and press each half of dough into greased cast-iron pans (10 or 12 inch will work, will just affect thickness of pizza). Form a 1 inch edge up the edge of the pan.
- Brush the crust with olive oil. Cover and allow to rest for 15 minutes.
- If your dough has shrunk at this point, after resting you can press it out thinner once again.
- Top with desired pizza sauce, cheese, and toppings of your choice.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until cheese is bubbly and crust is golden brown.
For 15" Party Pizza
- Press the dough into greased baking pan. Either circular or rectangular will function just fine, but you’re aiming for approximately 15″ diameter.
