Taco Seasoning

A from scratch taco seasoning to use wherever you would use a standard store-bought taco seasoning. A bit of a kick, but easily modifiable for your heat preferences.

Taco Seasoning

A quick, easy, dry seasoning for use in tacos or other applications.

Servings 1 ‘packet’

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Tbsp chili powder
  • tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp chipotle chili powder (or to taste, adjust based on heat preferences)
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ¼ tsp onion powder
  • ¼ tsp dried oregano
  • tsp red pepper flakes (or to taste, adjust based on heat preferences)

Instructions
 

  • Mix all ingredients together in a small bowl.
  • To use with ground beef (or other desired taco meat) – Add 3 Tbsp of seasoning per 1 lb of browned meat (drained of fat), with ⅔ cup water. Simmer until sauce is slightly thickened and coating the meat.
