Close up of a knit cowl with black, gray, and blue yarn.

Supplies:

Yarn:

Designers note:

This pattern was designed to:

  • Use up a remnant of a skein
  • Be lightweight enough for a cool Texas spring morning
  • Highlight the color shifts in the yarn with a unique texture
  • Be reversible (not identical, but at least quite nice on both sides)

The rounds in this pattern highly reflect the timing of the color shift of my particular skein. If you are working with an ombre/gradient yarn, I highly recommend shifting the rows of left/right diagonal (always ending in an even numbered row), so that the color shift happens during or near a direction shift to further highlight the yarn. I provide the row suggestions below based on my yarn, as well as to be symmetrical and pleasing for those who are using a solid-colored yarn, or a variegated/fast changing colorway.
