
Pound Cake

The traditional recipe for a pound cake is one pound each of sugar, flour, butter, and eggs. While tasty, I personally find it to be a little too dense and heavy for my liking. This is a slight twist to give that classic pound cake flavor, but a just slightly lighter texture.

Pound Cake
An easy and classic pound cake.

Servings 1 12 cup bundt
Equipment
- Stand mixer
- 12 cup bundt pan
Ingredients
- 1½ cups butter room temp
- 3 cups sugar
- 5 eggs room temp
- 2¾ cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup corn starch
- ½ tsp baking powder
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Grease and flour your bundt pan. Preheat oven to 325℉
- In the bowl of stand mixer cream together butter and sugar. Beat in eggs one at a time.
- Sift the flour, baking powder, and corn starch together. Add to the mixture alternating with the milk and vanilla extract.
- Add mixture to bundt pan and bake for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Let the cake cool in the pan for at least 15 minutes.
