Smoked Pulled Pork

My husband has been exploring grilling as I’ve been exploring baking and the results have been delicious. This is his recipe for smoked pulled pork on a Kamado style grill.

The results are moist, delicious, and freeze-dry amazingly well for quick meals.

Smoked Pulled Pork

Easy and delicious smoked pulled pork on a Kamado grill

Equipment

  • Kamado grill

Ingredients
  

  • 5 lb pork butt
  • rub of preference HEB brisket rub

Instructions
 

  • Prepare your grill for indirect heat, raising and holding the temperature at 250°F. Add a few oak planks for smoking.
  • Rub the pork butt directly with your rub of choice.
  • Place directly on the grill and smoke for 4 hours. (Optional, spritz with apple juice once per hour, we've found it not really necessary)
  • Wrap the pork butt in aluminum foil and smoke for another 4 hours, or until the internal temp is 200°F
  • Allow to rest for a minimum of 30 minutes before shredding.
