Equipment

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • tsp garlic powder
  • ½ Tbsp dried parsley

Wet Ingredients

  • 4 Tbsp unsalted butter cold, cubed
  • ½ cup buttermilk
  • 1/3 cup cheddar cheese shredded

Butter Wash

  • 2 Tbsp butter melted

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F and prepare a sheet pan with either a silicon baking mat, or parchment paper.
  • Place your dry ingredients into the bowl of a food processor, pulse a couple of times to mix.
  • Add your cubed butter and pulse until your butter is approximately the size of small peas.
  • Add in cheddar cheese and pulse a couple of times to mix.
  • Remove mixture from food processor and add buttermilk, stirring in until the dough just comes together. Careful not to over mix.
  • Using a large spoon, drop spoonfuls of dough onto the baking sheet, spacing 2-3 inches apart. You should have approximately 6 equal sized dough piles.
  • Bake for approximately 15 minutes, or until edges are just starting to brown.
  • Remove from the oven and brush with melted butter. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 2-5 minutes, allowing the butter to permeat and entire biscuit to turn golden brown.
