Candied Texas Pecans

Eat them on their own or topping a dessert, these are amazingly addictive.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 Tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • 1 egg white
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 8 oz raw pecan halves

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°
  • Line a 9x13 pan with aluminum foil and pour in the melted butter.
  • In a bowl, whisk together egg white, sugars, and vanilla. Add the pecans and toss until they are fully coated.
  • Spread the pecans onto the baking pan in a thin layer.
  • Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes, stirring every five minutes. Keep a close eye on them as they can go from perfect to burnt fairly quickly.
  • Cool on the baking sheet for 10 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally as they cool.

Notes

  • Optional variations:
    • Add a tsp of cinnamon to your mixture
    • Increase the sugary goodness by increasing it to 1/3 cup granulated sugar and 1/3 cup brown sugar.
