Candied Texas Pecans
Eat them on their own or topping a dessert, these are amazingly addictive.

- 4 Tbsp unsalted butter melted
- 1 egg white
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 8 oz raw pecan halves
Preheat oven to 350°
Line a 9x13 pan with aluminum foil and pour in the melted butter.
In a bowl, whisk together egg white, sugars, and vanilla. Add the pecans and toss until they are fully coated.
Spread the pecans onto the baking pan in a thin layer.
Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes, stirring every five minutes. Keep a close eye on them as they can go from perfect to burnt fairly quickly.
Cool on the baking sheet for 10 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally as they cool.
- Optional variations:
- Add a tsp of cinnamon to your mixture
- Increase the sugary goodness by increasing it to 1/3 cup granulated sugar and 1/3 cup brown sugar.
